The Benefits of Indoor Tanning

In the tanning world, many people know that tanning has its benefits. It’s common knowledge that indoor tanning (in some ways) can be beneficial but how many people have knowledge of all the benefits? One that might be the most interesting is that it can reduce the risk of certain cancers. It sounds odd, but one of the benefits of indoor tanning is the major boost of Vitamin D and that can reduce the risk of skin (compared to sun tanning), kidney, ovarian, and breast cancer. Spending time in the sun's rays can be very damaging if you don't protect your skin. A lot of times, people can lose track of the hours spent under that beautiful but dangerous sunshine and can expose their body to those harmful UV rays for way too long. It has also been shown that indoor tanning can help generate the production of Vitamin D in your body and can help you achieve the recommended intake.

The main reason why majority of women and men tan is for cosmetic purposes. Yet, it definitely has more advantages than just making you look amazing. Some of those benefits include:

Hormonal Balance and Oil Production

  •  Sun exposure or indoor tanning can bring balance to our natural oils, which keeps our skin healthy, moisturized, soft and better looking. It can also help with certain issues like, annoying acne, eczema and psoriasis.
  • Some people have a different issues though. One's skin produces too much oil, which can result in blocked pores. This is why having balanced hormones is important because it brings oil production to ideal levels in your body.

Reduces Scar and Stretch Mark Visibility

  • A lot of people know that tanning can help with scar and stretch marks, yet tanning doesn't minimize them. It’s more like an optical illusion. What causes this is a variance in colors. When you tan in real sunlight scars can appear darker, while indoor tanning allows you to control the skin color.

Weight Loss Improvement

  • As unbelievable as it may sound, the UV rays can help your weight loss endeavors. Those wonderful UVs can help boost your metabolic rate by improving the activity of the thyroid gland. When your metabolism speeds up, your body burns more calories. During the winter seasons, it’s common for some to take comfort in food due to a decrease in mood. That can partly be from a lack of Vitamin D. Thankfully though, Vitamin D is something that indoor tanning provides. This is actually something I have experienced myself and it has worked for me many times.

  • If you feel like your mood has gone from up to down, a major reason for this can be an under-active thyroid. This can cause fatigue and maybe even depression. Yet, many people agree that indoor tanning can actually help with the symptoms of an under active thyroid and bring up your mood.

You can do this by making your scars and stretch marks “blend in”. Put some protective sunscreen on the area you wish to fix while you tan the rest of your skin. This helps to make the scar/stretch marks color closer to that of your body.

As you can see, indoor tanning does have its benefits, and these are just a few of many. The next time someone says that tanning is just all around bad, tell them the truth. Tell them the facts.

Tanning can have many up sides and going to Paradise Tan and Spa is a benefit within itself! Always make sure that you tan responsibly! Follow the guidelines and the rules of the salon. Use tanning beds only once a day, if you are a first-timer, and your first tanning session shouldn’t last more than seven minutes. Use googles, and no exfoliating just before a spray-on tanning session. If you love tanning, great! Now, go get some of that wonderful Vitamin D at Paradise Tan and Spa! You will be happy you did and will love the results!

Benefits of Infrared Saunas

Infrared Saunas are different from normal saunas, different for many great reasons actually. Infrared Saunas are known to have multiple benefits for our bodies, inside and out. They can help relieve inflammation, stiffness and soreness by increasing blood circulation and allowing the deep, penetrating infrared heat to relax muscles and eliminate toxins. Other, more common benefits  among traditional and infrared saunas is; better sleep, relaxation, detoxification, weight loss, relief from sore muscles, relief from joint pain, clear and tighter skin, improved circulation, help with chronic fatigue syndrome.

What makes Infrared so different from traditional saunas is that infrared doesn't heat the air around you. Rather, they use infrared lamps to warm your body directly. Thanks to the kind of panels used, the Infrared sauna heats up your body before heating up the air. It can operate at a lower temperature than a traditional sauna. The heat penetrates on a deeper level than warmed air and allows one to experience a more intense sweat at lower temperatures. This makes for a more tolerable environment, which permits a longer stay in the sauna while increasing your core body temperature by a few degrees.

So, not only will you be more comfortable in our Infrared sauna, but Netflix and a shower is complementary with your session! After all, this is Paradise!
